In 2018, the number of fatalities due to aviation accidents in Latin America and the Caribbean amounted to 113. In the previous four years, no aviation accident fatalities were registered in the region. This was the first time since 2010 that the number of fatalities due to accidents on commercial flights in Latin America reached the 100 casualties threshold.
