This statistic presents the total number of professional tennis players, within each of the 50 member nations of Tennis Europe.
The 50 member nations are classified by Tennis Europe into three statuses: 'A', 'B', and 'C'. The group of 10 'A' nations includes the nations that have traditionally had the largest numbers of tennis participants. The 'B' nations are comprised of countries with a fairly sophisticated tennis infrastructure but smaller total population size than the countries in the group of 'A' nations whereas the 'C' nations are typically small or emerging states.
Tennis Europe's 'A' nations dominate the sport in Europe, accounting for the vast majority of professional tennis players. The country with the greatest total number of professional tennis players in 2018 was France with over 201 individuals, accounting for 10.4 percent of all professional tennis players in Europe.
