Price difference between bulk sale and regular retail France 2020

On average, the price of products purchased in bulk is six percent lower than their packaged equivalent. Nonetheless, there are some disparities, depending on the product: while dried fruits in bulk are 21 percent less expensive, the price of breakfast cereals bought in bulk is nine percent higher than in regular retail.
Bulk sale, or "vente en vrac" in French, consists of selling products without packaging, in quantities chosen by the consumer, who can also choose to bring their own reusable containers. In France, this segment has recorded significant growth in recent years.
