In 2021, Mongolia recorded the largest power sector carbon intensity in the Asia-Pacific region, at around 741 grams of CO2 per kilowatt-hour of electricity generated. Meanwhile, Bhutan's power sector was the least carbon-intensive in the Asia-Pacific region, with about 24.4 gCO2/kWh.
