Physical mobility of elderly in urban India 2017-18, by age group
According to the Population Census of India 2011 and the National Sample Survey, almost three percent of the elderly population living in urban areas above the age of 80, were wheelchair bound in 2017. By contrast, over 72 percent of the share of elderly in urban India was physically mobile during the same time period.
