Number of countries by nuclear power status in the Americas 2023
In 2023, Argentina, Brazil, and the United States were the only countries in the Americas that were actively planning the construction of new nuclear reactors. Only five North, Central, and South American countries were nuclear power producers during the period of consideration. Among them, the U.S. was the leader for nuclear energy production worldwide. The other countries with no active construction of new nuclear reactors were Mexico and Canada.
