Primary energy intensity per GDP in CEE 1990-2022, by country
In Central and Eastern Europe, energy intensity per unit of GDP decreased in all selected countries over the observed period. In 2022, Romania recorded the lowest energy intensity at 2.33 megajoules per U.S. dollar of GDP. In comparison, Bulgaria's primary energy intensity was the highest, with a consumption of 5.24 megajoules per unit of GDP.
