In a yearly survey among French influencers, it appears that Instagram has become the preferred platform for French influencers: 69.2 percent of them declared it their favorite social media in 2018. Instagram was also the social network on which 71.7 percent of influencers declared getting the most engagement rate in 2019. This engagement rate is used to measure the interaction level that an influencer receives on her/his content.

In France, subject areas in which people stated following influencers on the Internet the most were culture (27 percent), food (26 percent), and high-tech equipment (26 percent), while 21 percent of respondents consulted regularly lifestyle and beauty influencers. Concerning the profile of influencers themselves, most of them were aged between 19 and 30 years old as of 2018. Furthermore, the 2019 edition of REECH survey among French influencers shows that a third of them had between 1,000 and 5,000 subscribers.
