This statistic shows the results of a survey about the superannuation contributions beyond the compulsory level in Australia in 2009 and 2018, by gender. The results show that contributions as of October 2009 were higher compared to the twelve months leading to October 2018. Overall, there was a five percent reduction in pension contributions above the required level between those years. As of October 2009, 24.5 percent of male respondents contributed above the compulsory level and 21.1 percent of female respondents contributed above the compulsory level.
