In the fiscal year 2021, newly built zero energy houses (ZEH) in Japan accounted for 26.8 percent of new custom-built detached houses. Figures were forecast to reach 86.4 percent in fiscal 2029. The Japanese government currently promotes solar power as well as energy-saving features to further increase the share of newly built ZEH.
