Share of U.S. travelers changing their holiday plans due to inflation 2023, by income
A September 2023 study focused on the impact of price rises on holiday plans in the United States. As of that month, roughly a third of U.S. respondents with the lowest annual household income (under 50 thousand U.S. dollars) mentioned planning to drive instead of flying to reach the travel destination due to the impact of inflation. By contrast, just 22 percent of surveyed travelers with an annual income of 100 thousand U.S. dollars or more stated the same.
