Interest in news in the United Kingdom also fell sharply between 2015 and 2023, and news fatigue and avoidance continue to be growing issues among audiences around the world.
According to surveys held in 2015 and 2023, the share of respondents in the United States who said they were very or extremely interested in news dropped from 67 percent to 49 percent in that time period.
