Road vehicle CO₂ emissions change in the UK 1990-2022, by mode
Carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions from road vehicles in the United Kingdom decreased by eight percent between 1990 and 2022. Emissions from passenger cars fell almost 16 percent throughout this period, while those from heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) decreased by 10.5 percent. In comparison, UK light duty vehicle CO₂ emissions increased by more than 60 percent.
