Home transactional video revenue U.S. 2021-2022, by type
In the United States, digital rentals generated approximately 1.7 billion U.S. dollars in 2022, down from around two billion in the previous year, while digital sales revenue remained unchanged. Transactional video-on-demand (TVOD) allows customers to purchase and rent content on a pay-per-view basis, rather than subscribing to a service in full as they would do for an SVOD platform. Meanwhile, disc sales and rentals have been falling in recent years to 2.2 billion dollars in total in 2022.
